ISLAMABAD: Suspending the notification for the appointment of Abrarul Haq as Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), the Islamabad High Court Monday sought reply from the Federation.
Chief Justice Justice Athar Minallah took up the petition filed by outgoing Chairman PRCS Dr Saeed Elahi challenging appointment of Abrarul Haq through presidential order. Dr Saeed Elahi was appointed as Chairman PRCS in 2014 by the PML-N government and granted an extension for another term in 2017. Elahi was removed by President Arif Alvi, who is the patron of the PRCS. During the hearing, Attorney General Anwar Mansoor appeared before the court.
