DAGGAR: The district police officer ordered the registration of first information report (FIR) against four cops for negligence in the suicide case of a boy in the police custody three days ago in Buner district.
Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani said that the In-charge of the Swari Police Post Ajmal Khan, Moharrir Khalid Khan, Assistant Moharrir Atiqullah and Constable Nadir Khan had been suspended and arrested in connection with the suicide of a minor boy, Gul Fawad Khan, who committed suicide inside the police post.
He said the judicial magistrate and autopsy report had confirmed that he had committed a suicide and the pistol used was in the police custody which clearly indicated the negligence on the part of the police.
The DPO said that an FIR had been registered against the cops under sections 322 Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
He said that the father of the deceased, Gul Sadbar, brother Zakirullah and relative Gul Rasool in their statements before the judicial magistrate didn’t nominate anyone for the murder but stated that the deceased had left home 10 days ago due to family issue.
The DPO said that to provide justice to the bereaved family, a five-member fact-finding committee comprising of Deputy Superintendents of Police Ibrahim Khan, Ghulam Mohammad and Inspectors Sher Wali Khan, Mohammad Shah and Bahramond Khan had been constituted to probe the incident.
The official said the district police had also requested the district and sessions judge to hold a judicial inquiry into the incident.
