Cadets perform feats at parents’ day function
MANSEHRA: The cadets of the Pakistan Scouts Cadet College on Sunday performed stunning feats and acrobatic gymnastic moves at the 15th parents’ day function here on Sunday.
“I cannot imagine that cadets of a college could exhibit such stunning acrobatic skills and show a great talent on backs of horses,” Sarfaraz Qamar, the Chief Commissioner Pakistan Boys Scouts Association, told the parents’ day function. The chief commissioner said that it was the only college being run by scouts associations across the world.
“In fact our mission and objective to serve humanity through volunteer work is also foundation of this educational institution,” he added. He said that it was a great honour and dignity for the cadets of the college that clinched top position in all the Pakistan bilingual speech competition held at Hassanabdal earlier this year.
Sarfaraz Qamar also announced setting up of arms shooting department at college and swimming poll. Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrasi Principal Brigadier (r) Abdul Hafiz said that his institution was nursery to armed forces and cadets were groomed to render sacrifices for the country. “Ours is the only residential institution across the country where over 800 cadets including 200 children of the expatriates have been getting education,” he said.
Tent paging, hurdles crossing on back of horses and gymnastics and cultural show impressed parents and guests. At the end of function, the shining students both in curricula and co-curricular activities were given away trophies and certificates by the chief guest.
