2 injured in accident

LAHORE:Two people were injured when their speeding car fell into an open nullah in the Johar Town area on Sunday.

Rescuers rushed to the scene and pulled them out of the car. 69,000 motorbikes checked: Dolphin Squad and PRU showed immediate response to all the 425 calls received on the helpline 15.

Both wings of police extended help to 89 people on different roads, checked more than 69,000 motorbikes, 82 other vehicles and more than 45,000 persons. As many as 14 vehicles and 98 motorbikes were impounded and 241 persons were arrested due to incomplete documents.

Dolphin Squad and PRU also arrested 45 persons for violating the ban on wheelie, three for firing into the air and another three for violating the ban on kite flying.

Protesters, police clash: A minor clash took place between the employees of Punjab Land Record Authority and police at Faisal Chow, The Mall, on Sunday. Both parties hurled abuses on each other and pushed each other. When police tried to arrest one of the protesters, his companions freed him from the police clutches.
