Stray kite string claims life

LAHORE:A 35-year old man was killed by a stray kite string near Mughalpura flyover in the limits of Mughalpura police on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Amir. The victim was on his way on a bike when a stray kite string cut his throat. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The DIG suspended Mughalpura SHO Mudassar Ullah Khan and directed the SSP Operations to hold an inquiry into the incident and submit a report to him in this regard. A 20-year-old youth, Usman, had also lost his life due to stray kite string on October 20, 2019.

injured: A 40-year-old man was injured when a wall fell on him in K Block of Model Town on Sunday. The injured man identified as Bashir, son of Faqeer Hussain, was admitted to a local hospital.

road accident: At least 1,811 road accidents took place in the provincial metropolis during the current year. Around 314 people were killed and 523 injured in the accidents. Most of the lethal accidents took place on Ferozepur Road, Batti Chowk, Multan Road, Canal Road and Bund Road.
