OKARA: Like other parts of the country, the people celebrated the Independence Day with fervour and zeal here on Friday.
In this connection, a flag hoisting function was held at the DCO office in which DCO Qaisar Saleem, MNA Ch Arif, MPA Mian Muhammad Munir and other officers participated. Later, the DCO visited the DHQ Hospital and distributed sweets among the patients on the I-Day. Meanwhile, activists of the MSF, JI, PTI and PAT observed the Independence Day by taking out rallies in the city.
