First female officer appointed as DC West

The Sindh government on Tuesday appointed Shadia Jaffer as deputy commissioner (West), replacing Mohammed Ali Shah. She became the first female to take charge of the post.
Starting her career as Assistant Commissioner SITE, she was later posted to Jamshed Town from where on she worked deputy secretary in the Sindh Home Department for over two years.
Shadia was then appointed as deputy secretary budget and expenditure at Sindh Finance Department.
She was a qualified CSS officer and belonged to the 34th common Pakistan Administrative Service group, formerly known as district management group (DMG).
