ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen has admitted that former DG ISI General (R) Ahmad Shuja Pasha visited his home when Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani was the prime minister. Tareen joined PTI afterwards.
In an interview to senior journalist Salim Safi in Geo News popular programme “Jirga”, Tareen first denied that ISI former chief ever visited his home. However, in the same sentence he changed his statement and said that General Pasha once visited him when Yusuf Raza Gilani was the prime minister.
It is important to mention that Jahangir Tareen had joined PTI in December 2011. ISI former chief Ahmad Shjua Pasha, according to an August 3 report, requested top military authorities to thoroughly probe allegations of his involvement in unconstitutional and political activities and conspiracies during his army service. Latest statement of Jahangir Tareen would be one of the most important witness statements for such an inquiry if ordered by relevant authorities.
