A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday sought incriminating material, if any, from the Counter Terrorism Department against an accused facing charges of spreading religious hatred.
A bench headed by Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sidhu and Justice Erum Sajjad Gull was hearing petition of accused Hassan Zaheer Sheikh who submitted that the CTD implicated him in a fake case and he had no any relation with any religious hate campaign.
He said the CTD kept him in illegal confinement from May 28 and put his detention on record on June 14 by implicating him in a fake case. He requested the court to release him on bail despite ordering action against the CTD officials responsible for keeping him in illegal detention. —Correspondent
