CM announces Rs250m for Lakki

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has announced Rs250 million development package for the flood victims in Lakki Marwat.
Talking to The News here on Sunday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Salim Saifullah Khan said that he led a delegation comprising representatives of the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) and held a meeting with the chief minister.
He said that the chief minister was briefed about the destruction and damage caused by the torrential rain and floods in Lakki Marwat district.
Salim Saifullah Khan said the chief minister was asked to declare the district as calamity-hit area and announce relief package for the victims.
Later, the chief minister announced development fund amounting to Rs250 million and issued directives to the district administration of Lakki Marwat to make possible efforts for the rescue operation and provision of relief to the flood victims.
He said that such fund would be spent on the restoration of facilities of drinking water, gas, electricity and irrigation disrupted due to the floods.
