Announces latest equipment, new uniforms for Civil Defence personnel

SIALKOT: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Dr Asif Tufail Friday said personnel of Civil Defence have rendered great services for the nation.
Addressing a meeting of the Civil Defence, the DCO said the role of the department has become more important not only at the time of an emergency but also in the war on terror.
Chief Warden Civil Defence Sialkot Tahir Majeed Kapoor, Additional Chief Wardens Chaudhry Shahnawaz and Abdul Sattar Khan, Civil Defence Officer Riaz Wahla and others were also present.
The DCO paid rich tributes to the role of volunteers of Civil Defence during wars of 1965 and 1971.
He said capacity building and modernising of the Civil Defence department could greatly help the police department and other related departments.
He said the district administration was fully aware of the key role of the Civil Defence and steps were being taken to further improve and polish its abilities.
He said latest equipment and new uniform would soon be provided to all Civil Defence personnel of Sialkot.
He also said latest training courses on regular basis would also be launched and more manpower would be inducted to the Civil Defence, Sialkot.
