PPP Punjab president Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has demanded the central leadership to abandon the policy of being a friendly opposition and play the role of a real opposition to revive the kind of politics Pakistan Peoples Party has always been known for and to consolidate popularity for winning the upcoming local bodies elections.
He was talking to the media after a meeting of PPP Urban Lahore division on Saturday. He said the PPP still firmly believed that the 2013 elections were of ROs elections but accepted the results for the cause of democracy, in line with the sacrifices of leaders and workers of the party.
He said if the PPP had joined Imran Khan’s politics the political system would have hurt beyond recognition, adding that the party could not afford to damage the system at the altar of sit-in politics.
