Imposition of 0.3pc tax on bank transactions
All Pakistan Tajir Convention in Faisalabad after Eid

FAISALABAD: The Anjuman-e-Tajran will organise the here after Eid against levy of 0.3 per cent tax on bank transactions.
This was announced by Khawaja Shahid Razzaq, Anjuman-e-Tajran president, here on Saturday. He said that the federal government had imposed 0.6 per cent tax on bank transactions through cheques and above the payments of Rs 50,000, which was later decreased to 0.3 per cent by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on the demand and protest of traders. He said that the revised tax was still not acceptable to trading community. He told that prominent trader of Lahore Khalid Pervaiz would chair the convention for which invitations to all the traders of the country had already been issued.
CALL TO PROMOTE SPORTS ACTIVITIES: The sports culture among the youth is declining and it is need of the hour to promote healthy activities, said University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan.
He was chairing the deans’ directors committee held at Syndicate Room on Saturday. He said that the promotion of sports activities was necessary to develop a healthy society. He said that the country was enriched with talent and there was a need to tap the potential. He also lauded the steps being taken on the part of government to promote the sports activities. Talking about the UAF, he said that the university was making special arrangements to flourish the sports at the campus. He said that in the mid semester, sports gala would be kicked off among the different faculties and hostels. He directed the officials concerned to take every possible in a bid to capture the interests of the students in the sports that would make them more active. It would also help face the different challenges by developing the sportsman spirit among them. He said that 10 trained coaches of different games would be recruited to train the students. He also announced cash prizes for the winners of the different games. The meeting also reviewed the admission test arrangements. The vice-chancellor directed the staff to ensure flawless arrangements for the third entrance test for undergraduate classes to be conducted on July 26 in which more than 6,200 students would appear. The test centres are established in 11 cities including Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Layyah, Multan, Rahimyar Khan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Vehari and Bahawalpur. The tests are being carried out under the new admission policy.
