FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad syndicate has approved budget estimates worth Rs 5.069 billion for the financial year 2015/16.
The budget was presented by Treasurer Umar Saeed. The non-development budget was Rs 3.564 billion whereas the development budget (federal government funded) was Rs 923.871 million and development budget (Punjab government funded) was Rs 551.106 million.
Speaking on the occasion, UAF Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the university research portfolio had crossed Rs 2 billion. The UAF was meant for the food security and rural development, he added. He said that the education was the only tool that could bring prosperity and development in any country. He said that the government had earmarked Rs 71 billion for the education in the budget whereas it was Rs 48 billion last year that would bring tangible results to fight different challenges and alleviate poverty.
PROMOTION: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) promotion board has promoted Deputy Director (Public Relations) Tahir Mehmood Sheikh as the additional director (Public Relations) in BPS-19. He is associated with the Fesco for the last 11 years and has rich experience in media, public relations and event management.
