PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani awarded Dera Ismail Khan Police at the Central Police Office here on Monday for acting against terrorists.
A handout said that the IGP awarded the personnel of the Daraban police for their gallantry action against the terrorists.It said the terrorists had used hand-grenades and rocket-launcher in the attack. A constable Munir Ahmad and driver constable Muhammad Azam and Abdur Rahman, a terrorist wanted by the Dera Ismail Khan Police in several cases, were killed in the encounter.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Nasir Durrani commended the extraordinary bravery shown by the police against the terrorists and termed them as role model for the rest of the force.He also announced to send their names to the government for the Quaid Azam Police Medals.The IGP awarded Rs100,00 cash award to ASI Abdul Sattar and constable Shah Jehan.
