SIU arrests two ‘extortionists’ from PIB Colony

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has arrested two extortionists in a raid at PIB Colony on Sunday.
According to the unit, they were receiving complaints from the traders at the PIB Colony and Jamshed Quarters that a group was threatening them of dire consequences if their demand of extortion money was not met and were using parcels comprising bullets as their modus operandi.
On the morning of Sunday, the SIU team raided Jamshed Quarters area and after a shootout arrested two extortionists, Asif and Shahid, who had sent a letter with bullets to a shopkeeper of the area demanding Rs two million as extortion money from him. In this regard, an FIR#119/2015 u/s 384/385 PPC 7-ATA was lodged at the PIB Colony police station against them.
The SIU claimed that the two arrested accused had also collected from small industrialists of the area Rs1 million each as extortion money. Two pistols with ammunition were also recovered from the arrested accused.
