CHITRAL: The legal fraternity Tuesday staged a protest against the unannounced and excessive power outages and threatened to lock down the offices of Wapda if the duration of the power cuts was not reduced.
Holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the Wapda and local administration, the lawyers gathered at the Pakistan International Airport (PIA) Chowk and staged the protest.
Abdul Wali Khan, Niaz A Niazi, Waqas Ahmad and others were leading the protest rally. The speakers said that the people were spending sleepless nights in the holy month due to unscheduled and unmatched power outages in the district. They said that the local administration had assured them to make operational a power generator and restore power to Chitral from the national gridstation within three days but to no avail.
