LAHORE: Minister for Information and Culture Syed Sumsam Ali Bukhari while commenting on constitutional amendment has said that positive attitude of all political parties on 26th constitutional amendment is a good omen.

He said the PTI government has fulfilled its promise of development of tribal districts. He said that opposition parties should also play responsible role in other national affairs as well. He said that Nawaz League’s ‘double standard’ on southern Punjab province is regrettable as its stance is different when it is inside the assembly but has totally different narrative outside. He said ‘we welcome the Peoples Party’s support for PTI.

JI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has demanded the government present in the joint session of parliament the terms of loan agreed upon with the IMF and hold open debate on it. JI naib ameer Liaquat Baloch while addressing a meeting with the representatives of traders’ bodies at Mansoora here on Tuesday demanded that the terms of IMF agreement should be thoroughly debated in the joint session of the parliament to seek their approval from the representatives of people.

Liaquat Baloch said the IMF agreement was a document of slavery and the nation had rejected it outright. He said the agreement implied no confidence in the nation and surrender to the colonial powers.

He said the elected houses had been reduced to a non-entity as all powers had gone to the non-elected forces and technocrats. He said the nation believed that Prime Minister Imran Khan could not pull the country out of the present crisis with his present ‘incompetent’ team.

He condemned the Quetta terrorist attack and said the enemy was repeatedly targeting security personnel in order to sabotage the CPEC. However, he said the nation was united on the project and all enemy designs would fail.
