Accused attempts suicide in lockup

PAKPATTAN: An accused attempted suicide in Chak Bedi police station lockup on Tuesday.
Police arrested accused Hakim Ali in a case and detained him in the lockup. On the day of the incident, he attempted suicide by striking his head against the lockup pillar. Police have registered another case against the accused under Section 325 of the PPC.
DACOITS HIT THRICE: Cash and valuables were taken away in three incidents here on Tuesday.
In the first incident, Ghulam Mustafa Mughal of Chak Adha Kharsan and his uncle Muhammad Yaseen were returning to their village from Chak 25/KB when three dacoits snatched cash and the motorcycle from them. In the second incident, seven dacoits broke into the house of Ahmad Khokhar at Chak 39/SP and looted cash and a mobile phone. They also injured the house owner on resistance. When the dacoits were escaping, Fareed Kot police post Constable Abdul Rauf tried to intercept them but they injured him. In the third incident, thieves stole the motorcycle of Talah Zulfiqar of the grain market. Police have registered separate cases and started investigation.
RAMAZAN SECURITY: DPO Shah Nawaz has said that security plan for the month of Ramazan has been finalised.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that policemen would remain on duties till Eidul Fitr. He said that three DSPs, inspectors, sub-inspectors, ASIs, head constables and constables would be deployed in and outside mosques, Imambargahs and other important places. He said that walkthrough gates would be installed outside sensitive mosques and Imambargahs to avoid any untoward incident.
NO RELIEF IN BUDGET: PTI leader Mian Ahmad Raza Maneka has termed the federal and Punjab budgets anti-people. Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that no relief was provided to the people in the budgets. He said that relief was provided to the industrialists and landlords in the federal budget.

Two sisters abducted

PAKPATTAN: Two sisters were abducted at Mohallah Muzaffarabad on Tuesday.
Ali Raza and three others entered the house of Mazhar Fareed and allegedly abducted his two sisters. The accused also took away Rs 119,000 and sliver ornaments with them. Police have registered a case.

Woman, girl raped

PAKPATTAN: A woman and a girl were raped in separate incidents here.
In the first incident, the daughter of Muhammad Ashraf Joya of Fareed Kot was alone in her house when Javed along with his accomplice Amin entered and allegedly raped her.
In the second incident, Liaqat Ali, Mansab Ali, Ahmad Yar and an unidentified man entered the house of Sarfraz at Chak Jaman Shah and allegedly abducted his wife on June 4. The accused took the woman to an unknown place where Liaqat allegedly raped her. On June 12, she got a chance and escaped from their custody. Police have registered separate cases.

Clerks observe strike

PAKPATTAN: Clerks observed a pen-down strike in the district on Tuesday.
The protesting clerks led by Apca local leaders Mian Zahid Gohar Sukhera, Muhammad Ijaz and Muhammad Attiq demanded increase in salaries and allowances and upgradation of scales.
