PM, Army chief discuss security issues
ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at the Prime Minister’s Office here on Thursday and discussed different affairs pertaining to security of the country.According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the Army chief informed Khan about latest developments on security-related matters.
Separately, Defence Minister of Tajikistan General Sherali Mirzo called on Gen Bajwa and discussed regional security situation and matters of mutual interest, including enhancement of bilateral defence and security cooperation between the two countries, said a news release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Gen Mirzo expressed his appreciation for Pakistan Army’s professionalism and efforts towards regional stability. Gen Bajwa said Tajikistan was a brotherly country and cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan would help improve peace and stability in the region, the statement added.
