GCU job fair attracts students

LAHORE: Government College University (GCU) on Thursday organised a job fair which received an overwhelming response as hundreds of university graduates and final year students flocked to the venue to seek employment and internship opportunities in the reputed international and national organisations.

GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah inaugurated the GCU Job Fair 2019 which was organised by the university's Career Guidance and Placement Centre under the umbrella of Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at the university’s Bukhari Auditorium.

About 49 noted organisations including banks, media houses, software houses, NGOs and textile industry set up their stalls at the job fair and offered more than 900 internship and placement opportunities to the university’s students and graduates. The companies conducted on-campus interviews and shortlisted candidates for different positions, and also offered them internship opportunities.

capacity building: In order to promote relationship between academia and pharmaceutical sector, the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) organised a pharma convention, Pharma convention-2019, at its city campus here on Thursday.

UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the inauguration session of the Pharma convention while UVAS Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani, Director IPS Dr Farzana Ch, Associate Prof Dr Tahir Mahmood Khan, CEOs from many pharmaceutical industries along with delegates from Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan and others attended the event.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Prof Talat Naseer Pasha said it was needed for academia to work jointly with industries for the development of the country. He emphasised on academia and industries collaboration which was necessary for the capacity building and enhancing skills of young students for their bright future. He said UVAS working closely with livestock, poultry and dairy industry and focus on problem solving research by using its knowledge and train manpower to solve different issues of industries.

UOE: The two-day 7th international conference on education under the theme “Research and Development in Education for Sustainable Future” concluded at University of Education (UOE) Township Campus.

PU results: Punjab University Thursday announced results of various examinations. According to details these exams include; MA Physical Education part-I supplementary examination 2018, MA Philosophy part-I supplementary examination 2018, MSc Zoology part-I supplementary examination 2018 and MSc Sports Science & Physical Education part-I supplementary examination 2018. The detailed results are available on PU website.
