Fake accounts
Fake accounts on online social networks (OSNs) and webmail providers have become a basic resource used in various kinds of online attacks. This year, several social networking sites addressed the issue of fake accounts on their respective platform. Facebook reported that 8.7 percent of its accounts were fake, while Twitter reported the number as 10 percent.
The fact that OSNs are struggling with over 100 million fake accounts. The ratio of fake accounts in Pakistan is increasing day by day. People get user’s personal information and blackmail them to get money. To protect oneself from this growing issue, one should read in details a social media website’s privacy and security settings and make sure you’re only sharing your information with the people you want to share with it.
