Pakistan shares findings on Pulwama attack with India
ISLAMABAD: After nearly a month of studying the findings of the Indian dossier on the Pulwama terrorist attack, Pakistan on Wednesday shared the findings with India and sought further information and evidence to take the process forward.
Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua called in Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria to the Foreign Office Wednesday and the findings on the Pulwama incident were shared with him.
“A paper was handed over to Pakistan on February 27, 2019. The Government of Pakistan has shared preliminary findings with the government of India after examining the Indian report on Pulwama incident. We have sought further information and evidence from India to take the process forward,” the Foreign Office said.
When India blamed Pakistan for the Pulwama terrorist attack in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed, Prime Minister Imran Khan had offered cooperation in investigation if credible evidence was provided by India. “In response to this offer, Pakistan has acted with a high sense of responsibility and extended full cooperation. We do so in the interest of regional peace and security,” said the Foreign Office.
Earlier, a former Pakistani diplomat after having studied the Pulwama dossier said there was nothing new in it.
On February 14, India had handed over the Pulwama dossier to the acting high commissioner of Pakistan Syed Haider Shah in New Delhi who was summoned by the Ministry of External Affairs detailing what it alleged was involvement of Jaish-e-Mohammed’s role in the Pulwama terrorist attack.
