ISLAMABAD: Former chairman Senate Senator Mian Raza Rabbani Tuesday described the proposed meeting, called by the government to brief parliamentary leaders, as insufficient and said that a joint sitting of Parliament be convened immediately on the National Action Plan (NAP) and other national security issues. He alleged that it was unfortunate that the government was trying to create an elite group of within Parliament i.e. the parliamentary leaders and ministers. “The meeting called by the government to brief the parliamentary leaders on the 28th March 2019 is insufficient. A joint sitting of Parliament should be called immediately, if so required, in-camera to brief all the members on NAP and other related national security issues,” he said in a statement issued here by the Senate Secretariat.
