Six cotton varieties recommended

MULTAN: The Central Cotton Research Institute has recommended six cotton varieties, including genetically modified pest resistant BT cotton, for 15 south Punjab districts keeping in view of their climatic conditions.
CCRI Director Dr Zahid Mehmood said that the CCRI had developed recommended varieties after extensive research and experiments keeping in view of climatic conditions and environment of respective districts. These six varieties were good for the districts of Multan, Khanewal, Vehari, Lodhran, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahimyar Khan, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Faisalabad.
