ANP announces schedule for intra-party elections
PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) on Monday announced the schedule for the intra-party elections.
The party’s election commission chairman Mian Iftikhar Hussain announced the election schedule.
The election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would take place on April 10, in Punjab on April 12, in Sindh on April 14, in Balochistan on April 17 while election in Seraiki belt would be held on April 20.
The election for the party’s central organisation would be held on May 2. Talking to reporters after the meeting, ANP general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that his party was the only party in the country that conducted intra-party election regularly.
“Political parties claim of democratic values but they manage respective parties through nominations,” he pointed out.
Mian Iftikhar said that ANP had even held the intra-party election during dictatorships, adding that those demanding democracy in the country should first introduce the same within their parties.
