The Sindh Agriculture Department has decided to launch the Benazir Aurat Kisan Programme (BAKP) for the economic benefit of female farmers across the province on the pattern of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
Agriculture Minister Ismail Rahoo chaired a meeting of his department in which he was briefed about the important aspects of the proposed BAKP. Agriculture Secretary Agha Zaheeruddin and others also attended the meeting.
Rahoo was briefed that the BAKP will cover 12 districts of Sindh. The meeting decided that the BISP and the National Database & Registration Authority will be involved in conducting a survey to determine the bona fide would-be beneficiaries of the proposed BAKP.
