KARACHI: Mehran Commercial Enterprises (MCE) on Monday became the first company to export an order from Korangi Creek Industrial Park (KCIP).
MCE, a tier 1 small manufacturing enterprise, secured an order to manufacture interior cabin parts for the tractor industry of UK, a statement said. The industrial park was declared a special economic zone, where business activity has started.
Mashood Khan, director for exports and former chairman of Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers, said the MCE started operations in January. It was a great achievement and honour for him and his organisation to send the first export order after starting production in the newly built production unit in the SEZ declared KCIP, he added.
“All we need to do is find a product, do market research to find a customer, and we have a chance of creating an export business,” he said. “You have the entire world to locate your target market, and it is a big world.”
