Police refuse to register FIR for robbery
PESHAWAR: The local police have refused to register the first information report in another armed robbery in the crowded urban area of the provincial capital.
A teacher Asfandyar approached the C-Division Police Station on March 18 with the complaint that two armed robbers on a motorbike snatched his cellular phone and valuables when he was returning home after tutoring his students in Gor Khatri locality. The police noted down the crime only in a diary (roznamcha) when the complainant insisted on lodging the case so at least his cellular phone is not misused by the robbers.
Sources said a number of street crimes are happening in the city but the local police either refuse to lodge the proper FIRs (first information reports) or only note down the case as diary whose record is not kept.
