Buses decorated for Pakistan Day
LAHORE: In order to celebrate Pakistan Day, Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has exclusively decorated two buses with colorful flexes carrying pictures of national leaders who made tremendous endeavors for making separate homeland for Muslims of sub-continent.
According to a press release, these buses are being plied on urban bus routes B-33 (Railway Station to Green Town) and on B-22 (Jallo to Jinnah Terminal). Similarly, bus sheds of LTC at various places of Lahore have also been decorated with regard to Pakistan Resolution Day.
greetings: Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine has greeted the entire nation on the eve of Pakistan Day. In a statement, the minister said that Pakistan Day was observed to commemorate the Lahore Resolution of March, 1940 which was passed at Minar-e-Pakistan ground for a separate state for Muslims.
He said that the government was making all possible efforts to materialise the dream of Quaid-e-Azam. He urged the younger generation to get education and achieve their dreams while working towards a stronger and united Pakistan.
function: Punjab University’s Department of Gender Studies organised a seminar and various activities in connection with Pakistan Day here on Friday.
According to a press release, Dr Raana Malik, faculty members including Saba Lodhi, Nudrat Kamal, Nazia Abdul Ghaffar and a large number of students participated in the events. The faculty members shared their thoughts on the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. The students also presented patriotic poetry, national songs and participated in a quiz competition.

In their message on Pakistan Day here today (Friday), they said that for realizing the objectives of establishment of Pakistan personal interests will have to be sacrificed for national interest. “March 23 makes us realize that the destination can be achieved through struggle with good intentions and unity, proof of which that Pakistan was established within 7 years of the approval of the Pakistan Resolution,” they added.
Resolution: The Resolution of Pakistan is beacon of life for nations, said Shahid Miraj, Pastor and Dean of Lahore Cathedral.
Shahid said the nations striving for freedom, Resolution of Pakistan was a beacon of lights for them. He congratulated entire nation and prayed for the freedom of Kashmir. On the occasion, prayers held for sovereignty of Pakistan and stability of the country.
