Transgenders escape unhurt in attack

PESHAWAR: Armed men attacked a group of transgender people who were on their way to attend a wedding party in Garangay village in the limits of the Mathra Police Station late Tuesday night.
Two transgendered persons, Taufeeq alias Kuchnay and Rehan alias Nayab, told the Mathra police that they were on way to a wedding function in Garangay when armed men tried to intercept their car on the Pajaggi Road near Miskeenabad.
The complainants said the attackers opened fire on the vehicle when it didn’t stop. However, no one sustained an injury in the attack. An official of the Capital City Police said the cops took action and conducted raids in the area. Six alleged accused, including Muzammil, Rasan, Musaddiq, Usman, Salman and Asim were arrested.
