SUKKUR: The Hindu community on Wednesday has started the celebration of ‘Holi’ festival with traditional religious zeal.
“Holi is the Hindu festive of colors, which highlights the victory of good over evil as well as the arrival of spring.” The aim of the celebration is to unite people through the decoration of colors. In this regard, students and staff of Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College Sukkur (GMMC) arranged an event to celebrate ‘Holi’ to show solidarity with the ‘Hindu’ community.
The ‘Holi’ is celebrated by smearing colors at each other. The students, teachers and principal celebrated the festival to show harmony among various religious believes.Speaking on the occasion, the participants said they are enjoying the festival as well as it spreads the message of peace, harmony, and love among the communities.The ‘Holi’ festival is celebrated among communities that distribute sweets and smear colours on each others, while the temples are decorated with different Lights.
