Cop, three ‘gangsters’ among seven killed

A policeman and three suspected gangsters were among seven people gunned down in the city on Sunday.
Police said constable Saifullah was murdered near his house in New Karachi No 8.
New Karachi Industrial Area SHO Hamayun Khan said Saifullah, who was posted in the West district, was sitting outside his house when he saw some suspects and started chasing them accompanied by his neighbour, Mohammad Shahid.
The suspects fired gunshots at them, injuring both men.
They were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Saifullah expired. The officer said the murder appeared to be motivated by personal enmity.

Three ‘gangsters’ killed
Three alleged members of the Baba Ladla gang were gunned down in Lyari.
Chakiwara SHO Safdar Mashwani said Mohammad Nadeem, Zeeshan alias Shani and Shoaib alias Shobi were sitting outside on A-Road, Bihar Colony, Lyari because of a power outage in the area when two men riding a motorcycle opened fire on them.
They were rushed to the Civil hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
The officer said the attackers had used 9mm pistols.
The SHO said the three men were members of the Baba Ladla gang. Earlier, they worked for the Uzair Baloch gang. They had switched sides a few months ago. Police investigators said some key members of the Baba Ladla gang were killed recently and its leaders suspected that these three men were providing informing to the rival group.

Two killed in Sohrab Goth
Momin Khan, 35, and his son, Shafiullah, were shot dead in Jamali Goth, Sohrab Goth. Khan’s wife, Bakht Bibi, also suffered bullet injuries in the attack.
Sohrab Goth SHO Fasihuz Zaman Khan and his wife had eloped from Quetta to Karachi three years ago where they had their son, Shafiullah.
The officer said apparently the woman’s relatives found them, barged inside their house and killed Momin and his son.

Robbers kill man
A man was shot dead and another injured while resisting a robbery attempt outside their house in Qaimkhani Colony, Baldia.
Police said Mohammad Ayaz and Mohammad Jehangir were present outside their house when some men tried to rob them.
When they resisted, the robbers fired gunshots, killing Ayaz. Jehangir was admitted to the Civil hospital.

Two ‘gangsters’ shot dead
Two suspected gangsters were shot dead in an alleged encounter with the District City police.
SSP Fida Hussain said police was tipped off about the suspects' presence in the Machhar Colony area and, when a team moved in, the gangsters opened fire at them in a bid to escape. An encounter ensued after which two suspects were found in an injured condition, while their associates managed to flee.
