CTO announces traffic plan for Pakistan Day
Rawalpindi : Like previous years, the City Traffic Police headed by Chief Traffic Officer, Mohammad Bin Ashraf has chalked a special traffic plan which would remain implemented on Pakistan Day, March 23 morning to evening time.
Besides this, the same traffic plan would remain enforced on full Rehearsal days for Passing out Parade and organizing other events on Pakistan day i.e. on March 19 and March 21. The CTO has asked public to cooperate with the traffic personnel on these days as the plan has been chalked out keeping in view the security situation.
In this connection, a meeting was held headed by CTO, Mohammad Bin Ashraf and participated by all related traffic officials and other related office in the office.
In accordance with the plan, the CTO has deputed 336 traffic personnel on duty which would perform their duties on March 19, 21 as well as on Pakistan Day.
Similarly on March 19, 21 and on Pakistan Day, the entire traffic plying from Faizabad to Rawalpindi and from Islamabad to Faizabad would remain close from Dawn timings to evening hours. The motorists and other vehicle users are asked to use double road for going to 9th Avenue Islamabad from Rawalpindi on these days.
Similarly vehicles coming from Karal chowk which want to go to Islamabad Express are directed to use Service Road at Khana Pul via Chungi no. 8, Khana Road/Sadiqabad, Rawal Road/C Block Murree Road touching double road to 9th Avenue, Islamabad. The traffic coming from 9th Avenue to Rawalpindi would not be allowed to enter Cricket Stadium at Double Road, Shamshabad. Rather the vehicle users could use the routes of IJP up to Katarian, Pindora Chowk and Carriage Factory.
The CTO told that full proof security arrangements have also been made to remain any untoward eventuality on these special days. As a part of tight security arrangements all Addas would remain completely closed existing in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The vehicles coming from Muzaffarabad through Murree Road would be stopped at Lower Topa. Similarly, all the vehicles coming from Abbottabad would be stopped at Badiyan and the motorists, buses, Hi-EX and motor bikes coming from the site of Murree would be stopped at Satra Meel Toll Plaza.
