EOC launches three-day anti-polio drive
SUKKUR: The Coordinator for Emergency Operation Centre, Sindh, Umar Farooq Bullo, has announced the provincial health department has launched a 3-day anti-polio campaign. The district management, government health officials and polio teams are focused to bringing down the number of polio cases. Farooq said they have established model EPI centres to minimise the chances of polio recurrence. He said they are facing refusal to repeated vaccination. The EOC coordinator said repeated vaccination is necessary for polio eradication and to ensure children are safe. Bullo said the Pakistan Pediatric Association and other senior medical experts recommend that every child must be administered two drops of polio vaccine every time during the mass campaign.
