PESHAWAR: A group of people staged protest here on Sunday against the killing of Muslims in New Zealand and called it the worst type of terrorism against innocent worshipers.

The residents from Nauthia and Kohat Road localities gathered near the Peshawar Press Club and chanted slogans against the killings.

The protesters were holding placards inscribed with slogans like “Muslims are not terrorists but victims of terrorism” and “We condemn the carnage in the mosque.”

They said Muslims were not safe even in New Zealand. The speakers criticised the western media for its silence over the worst type of terrorism and said the entire world should condemn this ugly incident of the massacre.

The protesters said Muslims should be provided security in western countries as they are peaceful people and victims of terrorism. Questioning the western media role, they said the media did not properly highlight the carnage carried out in the developed countries.
