Security forces’ vehicles damaged in roadside blast
HANGU: The vehicles of security forces were partially damaged in a roadside bomb explosion here on Sunday.
Police said that a bomb, planted by suspected militants with an electricity pole on the Bypass Road, went off with a big bang when the convoy of security forces was passing through the area.
As a result, the vehicles were slightly damaged but the explosion caused no loss of life.
Soon after the explosion, the personnel of security forces, police and Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
According to the BDU, five kilogram of explosives containing steel ball bearings were used in the bomb attack.
The police said that the convoy of security forces was apparently target of the militants.
They said no group or individual claimed responsibility for the attack.
