50-year-old man shot dead in New Karachi

A man was shot dead near Baghdadi Masjid in the New Karachi police limits on Saturday.

A 50-year-old, Tariq Hameed, was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment where he breathed his last.

According to police officials, the man was a resident of the same area, and apparently the incident occurred over resisting a robbing bid. The family of the deceased refused to have a postmortem conducted, but later they agreed after the police intervened. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Three men hurt

Three men were injured in a firing incident in Surjani Town.

They were moved to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. The injured were later identified as Fayyaz Ali, Irshad Ali and Muhammad Ali.

Police officials said the incident occurred over a personal enmity.

Three brothers injured

Three brothers were shot and injured by their brother-in-law in Gulshan-e-Sikandarabad.

Police officials said the injured men were taken to the Civil Hospital, Karachi, for medical treatment. The injured persons were identified as 30-year-old Raffiullah Wakeel, 28-year-old Matiullah Wakeel and 23-year-old Perwaiz Wakeel.

According to the police, the victims were shot by their brother-in-law over a personal enmity.

A case has been registered while an investigation is underway.
