KARACHI: Asia’s No 1 Huzefa Ibrahim cruised into the final of the Penang Junior Open in Penang, Malaysia, on Friday.
Top seed Huzefa defeated Mohammad Shauqi Halim Ahmed of Malaysia 8-11, 17-15, 11-3, 11-5 in the semi-final of under-11. He will face second seed Joachim Chuah of Malaysia in the final.
In the semi-final of under-15, Oan Abbas overpowered Haris Qasim 11-6, 9-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-7. He will take on second seed Mostafa Assal of Egypt in the final.
In the semi-final of under-17 second seed Kashif Asif defeated Mehran Javed 11-5, 11-7, 11-13, 12-10. He will encounter top seed Ong Sai Hung of Malaysia in the final.
Top seed Asim Khan beat Ejtemai Sam of Australia 11-5, 13-11, 12-10 and Shoukat Abbas smashed Mohammad Mukhtar Mohammad Farez Izwan of Malaysia 11-5, 11-7, 11-6 in the semi-finals of under-19. Asim and Shoukat are to fight for the title in the final on Saturday (today).
