LAHORE: Despite computerisation of 73 Mauzas by the Punjab Board of Revenue under its Land Record Management Information System in Tehsil Rojhan, Rajanpur District, Patwaris are using old manual system to issue Fard and mutation of land, The News has learnt.

Out of 73 Mauzas, which were computerised under the Land Record Management Information System, only 67 villages are online in Tehsil Rojhan.

In six Mauzas, including Barra, Soonmiani, Patti Shahwali, Miranpur and Chakmit-III, Land Record Management Information System could not start. However, Patwaris in the entire tehsil are issuing Fard and transfer of mutation manually.

Sources claimed that high-ups of the Board of Revenue are not taking notice of the situation, which is causing numerous problems for the residents of tehsil Rojhan. Residents of these six villages have appealed to the Board of Revenue to take notice of the situation and order an inquiry against the Patwaris working manually instead of issuing computerised Fard.

As per notification of the Board of Revenue issued by a senior member of Board of Revenue, all Fards and transfer record are to be submitted in the Land Record Centre by Patwaris concerned within seven days but this is not happening. Muhammad Aslam Rao, Director General, Punjab Land Record Authority said Patwaris cannot issue Fard and transfer of record manually now and it would be considered illegal.

The DG said Punjab Land Record Authority had already written to Board of Revenue to provide the record for computerisation. Board of Revenue has written Patwaris concerned to submit land record to Punjab Land Record Authority. He shared that most of land records have been shifted for computerisation. Malik Muhammad Anwar, Punjab Minister for Revenue, said: “We are facing such kind of issues in every district in the province. It is not illegal. Patwaris will issue Fard and transfer mutation manually until we shift record for computerisation 100 percent. According to him, 80 per cent land records have been computerised. Rest of the record will be computerised soon on availability of record, the minister said.
