‘10 sites identified for housing scheme’

LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed has said that private builders, developers and other relevant stakeholders would be included in Prime Minister’s Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme to make the low-cost housing projects quality-oriented and transparent.

The minister said this while chairing a meeting attended by the representatives of private builders and developers, Housing Task Force Chairman Yaqoob Izhar and high-ups of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency.

Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed said 10 suitable sites had been identified for the scheme in the province. He said participation of the private sector in the project was inevitable to achieve the targets of construction of housing units in the province. A number of proposals and recommendations in this regard are underway, he added.

The meeting also deliberated upon a number of proposals submitted by private developers, builders and other stakeholders for better implementation of the mega project.

apparel park: Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal reviewed the pace of work on the Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park Project and its business model.

Chairing a meeting at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday, he observed that project of Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park was very important for the promotion of textile sector and enhancing exports. The Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company chairman and the officers of Industry Department also attended the meeting.

The minister said the project would increase the economic and trade activities. He said it would be completed in four phases as early as possible. He said that the project was already very late so further delay would not be tolerated. He said colonisation of industrial estates was government policy.

Kashmir: Punjab Minister for Human Rights & Minority Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine has said that the OIC resolution regarding Indian terrorism and human rights violations in the Held Kashmir had proved true the stance of Pakistan for many decades.

He said the resolution also reminded the international community of its obligation and once again proved that Kashmir was not an integral part of India. He expressed these views while talking to different representatives of civil society at his camp office on Tuesday.

The minister said that it was encouraging that OIC resolution on regional peace and security in South Asia also welcomed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s renewed offer of dialogue to India and the goodwill gesture of handing over the captured Indian pilot. The resolution had called for restraint and de-escalation as well as the need to resolve outstanding issues through peaceful means, he added.
