Modi creating war hysteria for election gains: Sarwar

JHANG/TOBA TEK SINGH: Governor Chaudhry M Sarwar Tuesday said that Pakistan proved itself as a peaceful country at the international level by taking anti-war steps.

He was talking to media men during his visit to Shorkot. He said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been indulged in war madness and wants to put both the countries in an unended war situation to get his political motives, in the current election scene in India, fulfilled.

The governor said that with the peaceful strategy and vision, PM Imran Khan refused the war-like situation, created by Modi, which had also been acknowledged by the British Parliament and other countries. “Pakistan wrote 1400 letters to the international community to inform them about the critical situation created by Indian PM in the subcontinent and peaceful measures taken by the government of Pakistan. It is a proven fact that Pakistan is a victim of terrorism and it never supports the elements involved in any terrorist activity across the world. The international community is aware of the blame game tactics of Modi who wants to win the recent elections by using the war tension card.”

Sarwar praised the Pakistani media for presenting the actual news and peaceful point of view of the Pakistani government. He said that government had finalised a plan for the development of Punjab which would be implemented soon.

Meanwhile, the governor said that the sub-campus of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad would be made the University of Toba Tek Singh. The government will provide all resources to enable the locals get quality higher education at their doorsteps.

He was attending a briefing on the proposed University of TT Singh here at the UAF’s sub-campus on Tuesday. He urged the management to prepare the PC-1 so that allocation of 4.22 billion rupees funds could be ensured in trances. He said that proposed university should be made functional in three years and funds would be released for its first phase during the current financial year. He also asked the university management to squeeze the project duration from 60 months to 36 months. He said that he would use his influence in the revenue department to get the adjacent 237 acres of land transferred for the proposed university.

Briefing the governor, the UAF vice-chancellor hoped that merit-based appointments of the heads of organisations would lead the country towards a corruption free and good governance system.

He lauded the unequivocal political support of the local parliamentarians and philanthropists in providing more facilities to the sub-campus. He said that the literacy ranking and the BISE data of TT Singh was a hallmark of the local talent. Later, the governor also inaugurated the new fruit and vegetable market.
