FAISALABAD: The number of PhD club of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad has risen up to 1,759 with the award of PhD degrees to six more scholars, including three females.
A spokesman for the university said here Sunday that on the recommendations of the external examiners and after fulfilling all the requirements, the UAF VC had issued directives to issue PhD degrees to six scholars who had passed their final examinations for the degree of the PhD 2019. They were Muhammad Fahad from the Department of Agronomy, Ghulam Hussain from the Department of Theriogenology, Humaira Jamil from the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, Kiran Hammed from the Centre of Agricultural Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Quratul Ain Rahat from the Department of Botany and Tanveer Ahmed from the Department of Zoology, Wildlife and Fisheries.
The titles of their thesis were ‘Wheat yield estimation using assimilation of remotely sensed information into a crop model’, ‘Leptin gene polymorphism in Nili-Ravi buffalo bulls and its correlation with male reproductive traits’, ‘Genetics of drought tolerance and yield components in Brassica napus L’, ‘Study on genetic characterization of rice EMS mutants using Mut Map technology’, ‘Morpho-anatomical and physiological adaptations in Leptochloa fusca from different ecological zones’ and ‘Patterns of genetic variability in natural and hatchery populations of Catla catla’, respectively.
