FPCCI pays tribute to PM, armed forces
KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) organised the “Jaag Raha ha Pakistan” to pay tribute and express solidarity with the Prime Minister and Armed Forces of Pakistan at the Federation House Karachi. The ceremony was graced by Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Sheerani and SM Muneer, leaders of business community and telephonically addressed by Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, renowned nuclear scientist.
While paying tribute to Prime Minister and Pak Armed Forces, Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said that the business community is proud of our armed forces and appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Air Force pilot Sq Leader Hasan Siddiqui for downing the two Indian jets and prime minister’s decisions to release the Indian pilot as a gesture of peace and friendship. He also lauded the role of United Nation and other friendly nations in resolving the India-Pakistan tension. Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan said the morale of the whole nation is high as Pakistan is a nuclear power and no one has the courage to cast an evil eye on Pakistan. He said the whole nation stands with the Pakistan armed forces and is confident that Pakistan will emerge victorious from the situation. He said the nation is proud on the reaction of Pakistan armed forces and feels protected from any aggression. He also urged the businessmen to play their due role in economic development and enhancement of Pakistan’s exports.
Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Sheerani recalling the previous two wars with India said that the nation is united like a metal wall in 2019 as well. Pak armed forces along with civilians have shown their resolve to defend Pakistan till their last drop of blood. “We are prepared to meet all crisis at second line of defence.”
SM Muneer, leader of of the business community and former president, highlighted the outcomes of previous wars. He stated that the business community of both nations wanted bilateral relations and trade. The Pakistan Armed Forces have the ability to perform in all circumstances. He also lauded the decision of foreign minister not to participate in the OIC conference and engaging Turkey, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and others on this crucial issue and projecting Pakistan’s stance as a peaceful country. The ceremony was also addressed by Vice Presidents FPCCI Muslim Muhammedi, Noor Ahmed Khan, Arshad Jamal, former president Zubair Tufail, former Senior Vice President Khalid Tawab, Abdul Sami Khan, Senator Abdul Haseeb, former Vice Presidents Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, Shakeel Dhingra and other leading and prominent businessmen, officers of armed forces and government officials, who paid tributes to prime minister and armed forces of Pakistan and highlighted the achievements of previous India-Pakistan wars and economic losses due to Indian aggression. The business community also passed a resolution to pledge their support to Prime Minister and the armed forces.
