Why should people suffer?
Before the 2018 Election, opposition parties constantly talked about the corruption and malpractices of the previous regimes. Even after the elections, the Pakistani people are being constantly reminded of the debts accumulated during the past regimes and of the fact that all the misfortunes that are to befall them is as a consequence of the mistakes made by their predecessors. Even the NAB authorities are claiming that the corrupt will be taken to task and looted money will be brought back. Unfortunately, no concrete measures have been seen so far. Granted that the previous governments borrowed a lot of money due to which the debt has increased manifolds, but in the past people were not heavily burdened with taxes and an unprecedented increase in the prices of essential commodities to clear this debt. The concerned, including government machinery and departments who had claimed to take action against those who looted the money and stacked it outside the country, should take measures to bring that money back instead of burdening the people.
