BZU students protest non-issuance of degrees
MULTAN: The Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) students of Civil Technology Friday staged a demonstration against non-provision of degrees.
They chanted slogans against the university administration and demanded to issue degrees to them.
They said that the faculty of Civil Technology was shifted from BZU Lahore campus to Multan after corruption scam at Lahore campus. A number of students were also transferred from Lahore to Multan for the continuation of their studies. However, the BZU administration is not approving the degrees which has created problem for the students. The protesting students also tried to enter the vice-chancellor office to record their protest. BZU Registrar Suhaib Rashid intervened into the situation and prevented them from entering the VC office. The students called off their protest after the registrar assured them of resolving their problem. The students said: “We have completed our degrees but the university is lingering the issue and not awarding the degrees.”
