35 general practitioners complete training

The Punjab Healthcare Commission on Friday completed training of 35 general practitioners on the minimum service delivery standards (MSDS). As many as 171 other health care service providers (HCSPs) were imparted training during the last week.

Among the trainees were 85 Hakeems and 80 homoeopathic doctors from Hafizabad and Jhelum districts while the family practitioners were from Lahore. They were trained regarding the provision of treatment, continuity of treatment and care, infection control, patients’ rights and awareness, facility management and safety, and effective arrangements for waste disposal.

They were trained in their respective MSDS in separate sessions. PHC additional directors (Trainings) Dr Majid Latif, Dr Imtiaz Ali, Dr Jamil Akhter Ghauri and Hakeem Farooq-ul-Hassan were the trainers. It is pertinent to mention here the PHC had outlined a comprehensive plan for the training of the HCSPs, and so far, through 588 capacity-building workshops, training had been imparted to 23,273 HCSPs of more than 18,900 health care establishments.
