Dam contract award approved
LAHORE: Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has approved the award of contract to CGGC-DESCON joint venture for civil and elctromechanical works of Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project, The News learnt on Friday.
The contract was awarded following a comprehensive bidding and evaluation process and exhaustive technical negotiations. The authority in a meeting also directed the project authorities to issue Letter of Acceptance (LoA) as per the rules. Consequent upon signing of the agreement, the contractor will mobilise to the site in March 2019. A formal contract awarding ceremony is due soon. Wapda is also negotiating cost reduction with the contractor and announcement in this connection is expected on the occasion of contract signing. The procurement process has been completed through open competitive bidding following the transparent best practices in line with PPRA rules and PEC provisions.
