SUKKUR: Heavy rains lashing Sukkur, Khairpur and other adjoining cities plunged the temperatures further down leaving the city flooded while claiming four lives.
To the extreme discomfort of citizens, power supply remained suspended for over 14 hours due to the inefficiency of Sukkur Electric Power Company. Similar was the performance of the municipality that was unable to drain water from the flooded roads.
Due to the continuous rain, the markets, educational institutions remained closed while attendance in most of the offices was also thin. The met department has forecast more rains in the next 24 hours.
