Punjab approves five uplift schemes
LAHORE: The Punjab government Wednesday approved five development schemes of different sectors at an estimated cost of Rs14.068 billion.
These schemes were approved in the 17th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2018-19 presided over by P&D Chairman Habib-ur-Rehman Gilani. All members of the Planning & Development Board, provincial secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
The approved development schemes included: Progressing Punjab by entrepreneurial development of SMEs (PPED) at the cost of Rs6 billion, developing SME sector through Loan Markup Support Programme (LMSP) at the cost of Rs3 billion, credit guarantee scheme for development and promotion of SMEs in Punjab at the cost of Rs2.5 billion, development of ostrich farming in Punjab (revised) at the cost of Rs90.574 million and improvement / rehabilitation of Rawalpindi-Murree-Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi (revised) at the cost of Rs2.48 billion.
